Becoming a CPA or Restaurant Accountant requires much dedication, schooling and usually passing a rigorous exam. This one-day class is to provide a basic overview of the operation of a restaurant from a financial perspective. You will learn a lot in this class and, most importantly, you will learn how much you don't know and how much more there is to learn. Do I need to study anything beforehand? No advance study is needed, though in your restaurant experience there have no doubt been questions you wanted to ask about restaurant finance but did not. Now is the time to ask those questions and hopefully we can answer - or at least provide some insight - and better understanding. Do I need to bring a computer to class with me? It is probably best to bring your own laptop with Excel as you would be most comfortable with it's operation. But don't fret if you do not have a laptop as we have Google Chrome Books that can work with Excel that we can loan to you. In either scenario we will provide you with a thumb drive containing MS Word and MS Excel templates on which you can save your work. Is their an exam? Yes, there is a short exam requiring a passing score of 75% in order to be awarded a certificate of completion, an example of which is on the left side of this webpage. Is there a meal break? We do take a lunch break and eating options include The Airport Café in our building or The Laredo Taco Company next door. And of course feel free to bring any snacks or non-alcoholic beverages that you want to consume during class. Be advised we provide free bottled water and coffee. What is your refund policy? If you notify us of your cancellation 24 or more hours in advance, we will refund the class fee. If you provide us less than 24 hours notice of your cancellation or you miss your class, we are happy to reschedule or transfer to another individual. What if I fail the class?
