WINE 101
Frequently asked questions:
Who can take the class? Anyone can take the class as we do not serve alcoholic wine in the class. However, minors under 18 would need parental permission. Why don't you serve wine in your class? The primary reason is that you must be 21 to drink alcohol in Tennessee yet only 18 to serve it. Half of our workforce are 18, 19 and 20-year-olds, and we would have to exclude them from the class if alcohol was served. A secondary reason is to keep the class affordable to the public. We teach private classes at your location or ours. How will we know what wine tastes like? We use varietal grape juices that popular wines are made of and with our Le Nez Du Vin aroma kit and tasting drills we come very close to approximating how these wine taste without the alcohol. Will I be a Sommelier after I take this class? No. This class provides information to those new to wine. Becoming a Sommelier, which means "Wine Steward" in French, requires many years of dedication, training and practical exams. What do we get for taking the this class? All participants will receive a certificate of completion and a waiter's corkscrew, both shown to the left. Do I have to bring materials or study anything before the class? No advance study is needed. Is there a meal break? We take a break and eating options include The Airport Café on the first floor of our building, or The Laredo Taco Company next door. And of course you may bring any snacks or beverages that you want to consume during class. We provide free bottled water and coffee. What is your refund policy? Our refund policy: a full refund will be offered if cancellation notification is provided 24 hours or more in advance. If you provide us less than a 24-hour notice or you miss your scheduled class altogether, we are happy to reschedule or transfer to another individual. Where is your classroom located? We're located on the fifth floor of Airport Executive Plaza at 1321 Murfreesboro Pike, Suite 501, Nashville, TN 37217. For location and directions to our facility click HERE. All public classes are held in suite 501 located on the 5th floor, however larger classes of up to 35 are held in our 2nd floor conference room. Do you have private classes? Yes, we can provide you with private classes at your location and require a minimum of 10 students. Since our exam is online and is administered on laptops we provide, your location needs to have a reliable internet connection. If not, we have paper answer sheets available and it should be noted that it takes about one week to get them graded by mail. Questions? Email ➜HERE Call/text Fred @ 615-330-1572 |
